Pet Grief Support is important for those who have experienced the loss of a pet - recently or perhaps in the distant past. Honoring them is not all about letting go and forgetting, but embracing the lessons that our amazing animals offer to us.

All of life has a cycle. From the teeniest of insects to the mightiest of mammals – everything has a life cycle. Unfortunately, we see our animal’s life cycle so vividly throu...

Removing Darkness With Light

Posted by Ministry of St. Francis of Assisi on May 7, 2017 at 9:20 AM Comments comments (1)

In A Course In Miracles, we are told that “there can be no darkness where God provides the light.” Light is to darkness what love is to fear; in the presence of one, the other disappears. All the darkness in your life…the fears, neuroses, dysfunctions and diseases…are not so much things as the absence of things. They represent not the presence of a problem but rather the absence of an answer. And the answer is love. All fearful manifestations disapp...

Knowing God As Love

Posted by Ministry of St. Francis of Assisi on April 30, 2017 at 2:45 PM Comments comments (0)

Take a moment and ponder this question…when have you felt truly loved? In the New Testament, Paul wrote about love while in prison. Not a prison we imagine today, but a dark, damp cell below ground. No bed, no pillow, no plumbing. No shower, no change of clothes. Paul, in prison, is being told about the Corinthian church, that he knew so well, is in constant quarreling. Love was being forgotten. Those in charge wanted to be right and demanded that they were, indeed...

World Peace Is Possible

Visualize what you want, not what you hate. Allow love to circle the planet, flowing from your heart...a heart of peace. Pray for every human being to have a heart that beats to the tune of pure love. Pray from this consciousness and visualize every person, in their own divinity, living from that sacred place of compassion. Envision Mother Earth enveloped in peace and wrapped in a continuous flow of divine love. Allow your heart to bless the world with your love flowing, connec...

Preparing For Our Lenten Journey 2017

Posted by Ministry of St. Francis of Assisi on February 25, 2017 at 11:35 AM Comments comments (0)

I grew up in New Orleans and just assumed that everyone experienced what I experienced every Fat Tuesday leading into Ash Wednesday. Leading up to Mardi Gras day, everyone parties...well, pretty much everyone. People are attending parades and there is a LOT of partying going on with bars staying open into the wee hours of the morning. On Mardi Gras day...Fat Tuesday...the midnight hour strikes and ALL of New Orleans shuts down. Police on horses ride side-by-side down Bourbo...

Choosing Our Point of View

Posted by Ministry of St. Francis of Assisi on February 5, 2017 at 1:40 PM Comments comments (0)

When I was at the University of New Orleans, I took every photography class that they offered. I love photography and I remember my teacher telling me that the world through the lens is different than the world outside of the lens because we get to choose the world that we see through the camera's lens. Which lens are you choosing to view the world? Personally, I choose to look at life through a spiritual lens of peace, joy and love which enables me to discover and welcome self...

Letting Go Of Resentment

Posted by Ministry of St. Francis of Assisi on January 28, 2017 at 9:15 AM Comments comments (0)

Having a heart filled with resentment fully occupies your mind and keeps you trapped in a constant state of misery. Forgiveness is a blessing and takes great strength. By not forgiving, you are literally giving that other person total control of your life by allowing that person to steal your peace of mind...your very joy. With forgiveness, your heart softens, that heaviness lifts and you feel free. Bless and release those feelings of animosity to the Holy Spirit. Instead of li...

The path to enlightenment is simple. A simple walk and quiet time in prayer and meditation rests our mind and engulfs our spirit with the simplicity of joy. Walking and meditating have great impacts on our lives as we are able to focus on the simpler things in life and live in awareness of the bountiful blessings of God. By focusing on a simpler lifestyle, we embrace peace of mind which leads to greater love, better health and more fulfilling companionship.

Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King

One of the greatest inauguration speeches was not given by an incoming President, but by a preacher on a hot, sweltering day in Washington, DC. No one knew what to expect from this man's speech, a man who's bravery was displayed not with anger, but with compassion. Dr. King never lifted a hand or yelled out words or brandished a weapon or even made threats. That is what threatened people of hate the most...his compassion. No one knew what he was about to say until he delivered ...

This is the day that most of us look back on what was and anticipate what will be. That anticipation is allowing our heart and mind to open to new learning and growing.
